I see you, Coach. You jumped into coaching and building your business with both feet. You’ve been taking tons of action and you’re getting some results. (Congratulations by the way!) But if you’re being honest, you really thought you’d be further along by now. You’re fully committed to finding what works for you and creating massive results for yourself and your clients. The online space just feels so busy and you’re starting to feel like your message is vanilla. You’re wondering how to stand out online and create more impact.
If this sounds familiar, this blog post is for you. Here’s how to stand out as a life coach online and create more of the impact you know you’re capable of making.
Think back to when you were younger and people used to ask you what you wanted to be when you grew up. Whatever your response, you responded with something that you had no evidence to prove that you could actually do. But you believed it anyway. You believed ahead of time in your ability to go to college, get married, have a family, or whatever else you may have dreamed up. Whether or not you actually followed through depends on whether or not you actually believed you could.
The same is true in your business. Whatever you believe about yourself and the results you can create will become your reality. The more you focus on this as the foundation for everything you do, the more you’ll be able to create the results you want in your life and your business.
As you begin to understand what you believe and what you value, you’ll start to see what sets you apart. When you know that, you can share that information as a way to connect with your community. Your community wants to know you. They want to know what you value, what you believe, and how you can help them. Sharing all of that will allow you to stand out and connect with the people who share your values and are looking for what you’re offering.
Sometimes we get caught up in not wanting people to unfollow us or disagree with what we’re saying. It makes sense that sharing our truth and being vulnerable enough to voice our opinions and share our values can feel scary. Our primitive brain actually thinks we’re going to die if we do this. Your primitive brain truly thinks we’ll then be kicked out of the tribe. And to our brain, this means death.
But you can remind yourself that it’s okay to not be for everybody. The more you stand for and share what you believe and the work you’re doing, the more your dream clients will be able to find you and work with you.
However, it may also mean that you’ll lose followers. Just remember this; they were never truly your people if they don’t share your values and aren’t interested in your work. There is someone for everyone but you will not be for everyone. That’s actually fabulous news. The more you stand out and share who you are and what you do, the more your “hell yes” clients will be able to find you. And the more you’ll be able to build a business you love.

When you’re focused on what you aren’t, you create more of what you aren’t. Really, this is how the world works. Think about it. If I don’t think I have the skills to write content that attracts my ideal clients to me, I focus on this belief. I spin in my negative beliefs about my ability to create content that brings my ideal client to me. I focus on my fears, my doubts, and what I’m not doing well which does nothing to move me out of this negative place.
Instead of doing this, acknowledge the areas in which you want to learn and grow. Then create a plan for what you want to do about that. Start with getting to know what your beliefs are so you have an awareness of what you’re thinking now. Then decide what you want to think instead to create different results. From that more empowered place, consider what actions you want to take.
I love thinking that I can learn how to do anything. I can figure it out. And I’m willing to show up and get it wrong in order to learn and get better. When this is the mindset you adopt, your success is inevitable.
