Our roles can seem like they define us and put us in a box. Then we’re left wondering what happened to the adventurous, free-spirited, fun women we used to be.
Sometimes when I play with my daughter, have an unexpected date night with my husband, travel far away, or have a girls’ weekend away, I feel like my younger, more carefree self.
It’s liberating and so fun.
But then I’m left wondering who I am now.
Don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love my life! But I have changed in so many ways. And I think it’s easy to get caught up in our everyday obligations and lose our connection to who we are at our core.

As you do these things, get curious about what you like. Notice what fills you up and makes you feel energized. Notice what you’d like to do again. Pay attention to yourself and what you’re thinking and feeling. This is a simple way to reconnect with and get to know yourself again.
